The Designer Behind the Keys

Hi, I'm Kali! Based out of Portland, OR, I'm a UX Designer with a background in Sociology, retail leadership, and entrepreneurship.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief:

People make better decisions when they feel informed, supported, and confident.

That belief guides everything I design.

Designing with empathy, clarity, and intention

My "Why"

Before UX, I spent years working directly with people - managing retail teams, supporting clients through big purchasing decisions, and running my own business.

I saw first hand how clarity builds trust and how confusion creates hesitation.

UX design felt like a natural evolution. Instead of guiding one client at a time, I now design systems that guide thousands.

I'm especially drawn to experiences where:

  • Trust needs to be built

  • Information feels overwhelming

  • Decisions carry emotional weight

  • Users need reassurance before committing

I believe that is where thoughtful design matters most.

My Approach

Good design should feel like guidance, not persuasion.

Research-Led

Grounded in interviews, behavioral insights, and pattern recognition.

Clarity-Focused

Designing to remove friction and reduce hesitation.

Trust-Driven

Building experiences that feel supportive, not overwhelming.

Rooted in Community

Outside of design, you'll find me:

  • Volunteering in local community initiatives

  • Supporting small businesses

  • Exploring new coffee shops

  • Walking forest trails

  • Spending time with friends and family

  • Nose deep in a good book

I care deeply about creating meaningful impact, not just polished deliverables.

Beyond the Screen

  • I believe trust is earned in small details.

  • I love conversations that start with curiosity.

  • I bring warmth and structure to every team I join.

  • I'm equal parts strategy and sparkle.

And yes - the "Keys with Kali" theme?

It represents my goal to design the key moments that unlock clarity and confidence for users.

Let's Build Something Thoughtful Together.

I am currently open to UX opportunities and collaborative projects.
